A Note on Transparency, Feedback, and Moving Forward

A Note on Transparency, Feedback, and Moving Forward

Creator Cards has always been a community-driven project. From day one, the goal was simple: celebrate creators, spotlight smaller voices, and build something with the community, not just for it. Because of that, we want to openly address a topic that came up during Collection One around the inclusion of an AI-generated artwork card.

During the final stages of production, we were working under very tight deadlines and faced a last-minute change when a creator had to pull out close to print. In that moment, we made a poor decision. Instead of pausing to ask the creator community for input or accepting another delay to the project, we chose to fill that slot with an AI-generated image and a fictional creator name. That choice did not reflect the values Creator Cards is built on, and we fully own that mistake.

As soon as concerns were raised, we made a clear decision. Anyone who wanted a refund could receive one, no questions asked. Every refund request was honoured. In the end, refunds were requested on roughly 10% of total orders, with the majority of the community choosing to keep their packs and continue supporting the project. While the percentage matters less than the principle, we believe it’s important to be transparent about the outcome.

What matters most to us is trust. This project only exists because creators and collectors believed in it, backed it early, and gave honest feedback along the way. When something didn’t sit right, we didn’t argue or deflect. We listened, acted, and owned the decision.

Creator Cards is still evolving, and Collection One taught us a lot. Not just about production or logistics, but about expectations, values, and how closely people care about the details. That’s a good thing. It means the community is invested, and that’s something we’re genuinely grateful for.

To everyone who shared their thoughts respectfully, supported the project, or simply stuck around while we worked through it, thank you. We’re excited about what’s ahead, and we’re committed to building Creator Cards with clarity, accountability, and the community at the centre of every decision.
